Italy, a European Union (EU) member state and Europe’s third largest economy, is one of many EU countries making a transition to an energy sector less reliant on fossil fuels.
EU legislation to raise clean energy targets and increase energy security, is forecast to reduce oil and gas demand across the EU by 15% from 2022 levels by 2030, and coal demand by 55%*.
Clean energy investments are projected to further stimulate the energy transition away from fossil fuels.
These shifts demand new skills and ABB in Italy is helping educate and train Italian students for new workplace challenges.
