Enabling a low-carbon society is at the center of our purpose and value proposition. Our efforts focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in our own operations, collaborating with our suppliers to reduce their emissions, and helping our customers reduce and avoid emissions through the use of our products, solutions and services.

Our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions targets for 2030 and 2050 were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2024. In line with the SBTi Net-Zero Standard, we are committed to having net-zero emissions across both our operations and our upstream and downstream value chain by 2050.

80% reduction of scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 (compared to 2019)

100% reduction of scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2050

25% reduction of scope 3 GHG emissions by 2030 (compared to 2022)

90% reduction of scope 3 GHG emissions by 2050 (compared to 2022)

Our divisions work closely with suppliers to reduce emissions profiles of products. In our supply chain, we also pay close attention to using lower-carbon transport options, materials with renewable or recycled content, and innovative materials that weigh less but provide comparable quality performance.

To enable us to deliver an 80% reduction in operational GHG emissions by 2030, we have also committed to achieving three initiatives of the Climate Group of global companies by 2030:

Electrify our entire vehicle fleet (EV100)
Source 100% of our electricity from renewable energy sources (RE100)
Improve energy efficiency and productivity across our operations (EP100)

To calculate avoided emissions at our customer sites, we follow the latest guidelines of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Our technologies enable emissions avoidance in industry, transport, buildings, data centers and more.
