ABB’s latest video series about its partnership with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship showcases the closely linked and exciting worlds of a global technology leader and the pioneering global all-electric motor racing series.
Together, these two high-performance partners are driving progress in technology that will help ensure a cleaner, more sustainable, future for coming generations.
The series of five videos will explore common touchpoints between ABB and ABB Formula E, highlighting parallels both in technology and philosophy.
Whether viewed individually or as a series, the videos will shine a light onto the cutting-edge technologies pioneered by ABB and the mould-breaking ambition of ABB Formula E.
“Ease of use… will enable cobots to work side-by-side with human co-workers,” says Andie Zhang, ABB’s Global Product Manager Collaborative Robotics. By programming cobots to perform tasks that human co-workers don’t want to do, efficiency and teamwork are increased. The same spirit applies to ABB Formula E teams, where humans and machines have to work together in pursuit of victory in the all-electric world championship.
“We’re pushing every day to make sure this technology becomes more relevant,” says Dilbagh Gill, head of the Mahindra ABB Formula E team, as he discusses powertrain efficiency advances in episode three of our video series ‘Drivers of Progress’. As we discover, cutting-edge e-mobility developments in ABB Formula E are mirrored in ABB’s own industrial motors and drives applications, driving progress in energy saving and recuperation.
In the second episode of our new video series ‘Drivers of Progress’, we look at the technological progress in e-mobility being driven by the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship – while answering some penetrating questions from children whose futures stand to benefit from the emissions-free future promised by electric vehicles.
