Partnership & Partners

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is about bringing the thrill of electric racing to as many people as we can – showing how driving can be both exciting and sustainable.

We do this by bringing all-electric zero-emission race cars to compete in cities and taking the racing to excited local audiences.

ABB’s purpose is to enable a more sustainable and resource-efficient future, through developing technologies which are ‘Engineered to Outrun’.

History of the Partnership

Our partnership with Formula E began in January 2018, bringing together a global leader in electrification and automation with the world’s first fully electric international motorsport class. It is a partnership between two organizations who are working together to create a leaner, cleaner future.

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is a platform for technological development for innovative electrification and digital technologies which can be transferred from the racetrack to real-world situations to improve productivity, efficiency and reliability. It also provides us with a unique opportunity to engage with stakeholders around the world. Working in collaboration with Formula E, we are helping to encourage the global adoption of clean mobility by enhancing technologies and highlighting the benefits of electric vehicles.

The metropolitan settings for the races offer an ideal platform to highlight how our technology can help decarbonize essential industries while enabling customers to outperform, amplified by the appeal of the championship.
