DHL is a leading global brand in the logistics industry and the Official Founding Logistics Partner of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. In this role DHL handles the logistics requirements of ABB Formula E, transporting more than 500 tons of freight – including all race cars, batteries and chargers, media and broadcasting equipment – to cities around the world.
DHL’s commitment to maximizing efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint of its operations aligns perfectly with ABB’s own strategic carbon reduction goals. In 2022, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding to support each other’s goals to cut carbon emissions and DHL subsequently joined ABB’s Energy Efficiency Movement. Deutsche Post DHL Group has committed to invest €7 billion by 2030 to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, while ABB has set itself the target of helping customers reduce their annual CO2 emissions by more than 100 megatons, by 2030.
Within the ABB Formula E environment, ABB and DHL collaborate in joint activities to promote CO2-neutral transportation, such as panel discussions and video creation, and engagement with ABB’s Drivers of Progress video series.
