Teams & Drivers

The grid for Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship features new names and faces throughout both the teams’ and drivers’ championships, with Lola Yamaha ABT forming a new partnership and Kiro Race Co taking over from the ERT outfit. Only four teams retain the same driver pairing, with a rookie and the youngest driver in Formula E history joining the grid.

One of the founding teams of the ABB Formula E championship, Andretti is competing in its 11th season in the series, having also spent time as a BMW works team. Season 9 world champion, Jake Dennis, has been joined at Andretti by Nico Müller for Season 11 and the Andretti team will be looking to add to its tally of numerous wins and podiums this season.

Porsche entered Season 11 off the back of a hugely successful Season 10, with Pascal Wehrlein being crowned world champion. Between Wehrlein and team-mate António Félix da Costa, the Porsche team secured seven victories last season on their way to a second-place finish in the teams’ championship, in which they will be aiming to go one step further this season.

McLaren will enter its third season in Formula E this year, with the youngest driver in Formula E history, Taylor Barnard, partnering Sam Bird. With a blend of youth and experience behind the wheel, the papaya team will look to build on Bird’s one and only victory in Season 10.

The reigning team champions, Jaguar TCS Racing picked up its maiden title victory in Season 10. Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy each contributed two victories on the way to the team’s success in Season 11, while also picking up 14 podiums between them. The prestigious British manufacturer will look to continue this momentum throughout Season 11.

Mahindra joined the ABB Formula E championship back in 2014, marking the Indian manufacturer’s first foray into international single-seater racing. With five wins and 24 podiums in that time, Mahindra will maintain its talented and experienced driver line-up of Edoardo Mortara and Season 7 World Champion Nyck de Vries for Season 11.

An evolution of the ERT Formula E Team, the Kiro Race Co team is a new name for Season 11. Having originally joined the championship in Season 1 under the Team China Racing name, the team carried Nelson Piquet Jr to the inaugural drivers’ championship.

Season 11 brings a new name to the grid, with the Lola Yamaha ABT team comprising a new partnership between some legendary names in motorsport. Retaining Season 3 World Champion, Lucas di Grassi, the team has opted for a balance of youth and experience, with Bajan rookie Zane Maloney partnering Formula E’s most successful driver.

One of Italy’s foremost automotive brands, Maserati ended a 60-year hiatus from single-seater competition when they joined Formula E in Season 9 in conjunction with the Monegasque Monaco Sporting Group. Sporting an all-new driver pairing of Season 8 champion Stoffel Vandoorne and Jake Hughes.

Nissan joined the Formula E championship in 2018/19, when it partnered with the championship-winning e.dams team. For Season 10 and the Gen3 era, Nissan took complete control of the team, and for Season 11, the Japanese outfit has retained the services of Brit Oliver Rowland, while signing Norman Nato as his new teammate.
