ABB is committed to responsible sourcing and helping our partners meet the challenges of responsible manufacturing.
ABB has factories in about 100 countries, which make products in over 300 product lines, with the help of more than 60,000 direct material and project service suppliers. Together, ABB and suppliers have a responsibility of doing business for good. This is done by ensuring that both sides are obeying the law of the country where they are based, are taking action to limit their environmental impacts, respect the legal and human rights of their workers and have effective health and safety policies.
The ABB Supplier Code of Conduct (SCoC) clearly outlines our expectations, based on the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact, and is updated periodically to address new developments.
ABB has also implemented the Sustainable Supply Base Management (SSBM), to improve the sustainability performance of our suppliers, especially those exposed to sustainability risks. As part of the program, ABB conducts on-site evaluations, training and special projects to support suppliers, monitoring performance to make sure we are aligned on our commitments and obligations.
